About Me
I am an artist living in the southside of Glasgow, currently seeking work in childcare. I have significant experience working with children and young people, where I have developed the skills of patience, tolerance, time management, efficiency and understanding. As an artist and gardener, I enjoy utilising my creative skills to engage children, and help them learn and play in new ways. I also have learned the merits of energy and a sense of humour to do the job well. I know what makes young kids happy and how to communicate to them in a way that they will listen. I have the experience to keep them entertained while teaching them important lessons and encourage them to develop their independence and self-esteem.
My Experience
I have most recently worked in a Nursery in Shawlands, where children ranged from 6 months to 5 years, providing a variety of valuable experience. Within this role, I was required to plan and supervise activities, in particular arts and crafts, as well as music and mealtimes, and assist with learning numeracy and language skills through games and other activities. I have also been working with the New Gorbals Housing Association, leading creative workshops during the school holiday programme for children in Gorbals housing association properties. In addition to this I have many years of experience working as a babysitter and nanny, and can provide relevant references upon request.
My Qualifications
I have a recent PVG check. For my most recent job as an early years practitioner, I was required to go through a thorough training programme prior to starting the role. This involved training in safety, first aid, children's development and play theory.
My Availability
I have fully flexible availability. I am seeking no more than 20 hours a week.
