My Summary
Qualified Teacher, Experienced Nanny & Tutor In Greenhithe
About Me
My name is Ashleigh. I am 30 years old and live in Greenhithe. I am a qualified primary school teacher and experienced nanny and tutor. I hold a degree in Early Childhood Studies, specialising in child development from birth to age 8, and have extensive experience working with children in a variety of settings.
Additionally, I am the owner of Little Learners North West Kent, a messy play business that supports children's early development, creativity and mark-making skills through engaging sensory experiences for children aged 5 months to 5 years.
I am currently seeking a full-time nanny position from September, although I may be able to start earlier with some flexibility. I am also available for tutoring and babysitting.
My childcare experience includes working as a nanny, childminding assistant, SEN personal assistant and tutor. I currently support three families, caring for children aged 1-8 years, looking after multiple children at once. My responsibilities include school runs, meal preparation and supervision, planning engaging age-appropriate activities, supporting routines, encouraging positive behaviour and maintaining a safe, organised environment. I pride myself on building strong relationships with both children and parents, ensuring children feel happy, secure and well supported.
In a previous nanny role, I cared for three-year-old twins, planning educational and creative activities, supporting their social and emotional development, assisting with potty training, and taking them on regular outings to libraries, parks and local classes. I continue to babysit for this family and maintain a positive relationship with them.
As a tutor, I have four years of experience supporting primary-aged children in Maths, English, phonics and 11+ preparation. I provide personalised, one-to-one sessions tailored to each child's individual needs and learning style.
I am passionate about helping children learn, grow and thrive through nurturing care, meaningful experiences and play-based learning.

Ashleigh has been looking after my three children aged 2, 5 and 7 since November and I honestly do not know what I would do without her now. She is reliable, flexible and very dependable. My children are quite boisterous and excitable and Ashleigh is always cool, calm and consistent. They love being with her and always ask if today is An Ashleigh Day. She helps with everything - reading, homework, play, meals, bath and tidying - and I think she is an absolute godsend. I would highly recommend her to any family for childcare or nannying.

Lessons are always engaging and tailored to suit individual needs, ensuring a supportive and effective learning experience. We’ve seen a noticeable improvement in both skills and enthusiasm for learning. I couldn’t recommend Ashleigh more highly for any parent looking for a dedicated and professional primary school tutor!

Ashleigh is superb all-round childcare professional who did a fantastic job of looking after our three-year old twins in our home from March through August 2023.
From the very beginning, engagement with my wife and I was extremely professional with all terms and conditions communicated succinctly and formalised in a very straightforward contract. Ashleigh then came to our home for a trial visit to ensure that she was good fit for our children. They took to her immediately and Ashleigh commenced working with them the following week.
Everything that Ashleigh does is centred around keeping the children that she is working with fully engaged at all times. Every day that she worked with our twins was filled with reading, activities and learning through play. She put a lot of thought into varying the books that were read to our children, emphasising the meaning through creative use of voices and actions, and pitched her explanations of the nature and purpose of activities at the right level for our children to understand. If either of the children required discipline or correction her stance was firm but non-threatening and she was extremely adept at encouraging our kids to move from one activity to another. From play to reading, from reading to lunch, from lunch to a walk... It was all done quickly, confidently and with minimum fuss. Throughout all of this, Ashleigh constantly emphasised the importance of good natured behaviour and good manners, but in a way that kept both of our children completely enamoured of her at all times.
From an administrative point of view, Ashleigh was extremely professional. Her invoices were fully itemised and submitted in a timely manner, her timekeeping was excellent and she kept us provided with updates and photos (via a WhatsApp group that my wife set up for the three of us) throughout every day that she was looking after our children.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Ashleigh as a Childminder or Tutor. She takes great pride in her work and strives to deliver excellence in all that she does.
