Emma
Part Time Nanny Job In Chelmsford
About Me
We are looking for a flexible and reliable nanny to become a trusted part of our family as we move into our next stage of family life.
Our eldest will be starting school in September 2026, and we are seeking before- and after-school care to support the school-day routine. Our youngest currently attends nursery, but we are planning to move her to shorter days, meaning she will also need care before and after nursery.
The role will primarily focus on caring for the children either side of the school and nursery day. This includes calm, engaging play, supporting school and nursery transitions, and helping with the early evening routine. We would also appreciate support with light housekeeping, such as children’s laundry, making beds, and preparing supper for the family.
Flexibility is really important to us. We are happy to offer a salary, allowing hours to flex from week to week depending on our needs, travel, or family commitments, rather than working to rigid fixed hours.
Above all, we are looking for someone kind, dependable, and nurturing - someone who genuinely enjoys being around children and is interested in building a long-term relationship. Our hope is to find someone who becomes part of our family, and who our children feel safe with, trust, and grow to know and love.
We are beginning our search early in the hope of building a relationship ahead of September. This would initially involve occasional ad-hoc babysitting or nannying, with minimal hours to start, allowing us all to get to know one another before committing to a longer-term arrangement.
My Requirements
Before- and after-school and nursery wraparound nanny, flexible salaried hours, light housekeeping, long-term family role.

Codie has been a fantastic addition to our family’s support system. She has a naturally warm, calm and approachable presence that our children immediately responded to. Our eldest, a lively toddler, bonded with her very quickly and clearly enjoys her company. Codie has also cared for our baby during my KIT (Keeping In Touch) work days – she approached bottle-feeding and weaning with confidence and kindness, and even prepared homemade snacks that both children loved.
We’ve done a number of settling-in sessions and have had the chance to observe Codie interacting with the children first-hand. She is engaged, nurturing, and calm under pressure – everything you’d hope for in a trusted babysitter.
We feel very lucky to have found Codie and are looking forward to continuing to work with her as our children grow. She’s been reliable, communicative, and clearly very experienced with little ones. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to other families.
