Private Tutor in South Northamptonshire
My Summary
About Me
I’m an experienced primary school teacher with several years of experience, having taught in Inner London and now in Northamptonshire. Over that time, I’ve really enjoyed developing my teaching and growing my confidence in leading different subject areas across the school.
Outside the classroom, I like to keep active and enjoy running—I regularly take part in parkruns, have completed a number of 10Ks, and even a half marathon! I also have a dog called Thor (yes, named after Marvel—I’m a big fan!), who keeps me busy. When I get the chance to relax, I love reading, especially non-fiction, and I’ll always have a soft spot for Harry Potter.
My Experience
I am an experienced primary school teacher with several years of practice across Key Stage 1, Lower Key Stage 2, and Upper Key Stage 2. I have worked in a variety of school and childcare settings, including in Inner London and Northamptonshire, developing the ability to adapt to different environments and meet the diverse needs of pupils. I have extensive experience supporting children with SEND and those with English as an Additional Language (EAL), including working with pupils with ADD, ADHD, OCD, Tourette’s syndrome, Global Developmental Delay (GDD), Autism, Selective Mutism, and SEMH needs.
I currently lead STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Art) within my school, where I design and deliver engaging, cross-curricular learning opportunities. I also consider mathematics to be a particular strength within my teaching practice and am confident in delivering engaging and effective lessons that support progress for all learners.
In addition to my classroom experience, I have volunteered for several years with the Scout Association as an Assistant Beaver and Cub Scout Leader, where I have planned and delivered a range of creative and engaging activities for young children.
I have continued to develop my professional knowledge through training, including a course in Understanding Autism (Open University, 2020) and training on Anxiety in Children and Young People during COVID-19 (2020). I also successfully completed the National Professional Qualification in Leading Teaching (NPQLT).
I am qualified to teach primary school swimming in line with the National Curriculum and hold a Paediatric First Aid certification.
