Hello, my name is Emma and I am a 27-year-old living and working in Edinburgh.
I have experience working in a Montessori environment, facilitating children's art workshops and projects as well as experience in one-on-one support with children with additional support needs. I have a calm and gentle approach and believe in collaborative play, hands-on learning and following the child's natural interests! I enjoy art and craft projects, cooking, and experiments as well as exploring nature and taking trips to galleries or other excursions. I was born in Denmark before moving to Scotland as a child, which has led to me having an interest in languages and other cultures and am empathetic to bi-lingual families and learning.

My Experience
• Working as an art specialist in a Montessori classroom with ages 2-11
- My role at the school involved preparing a range of activities for the children and working collaboratively and intuitively with the children to meet their needs and natural interests. I have trained in the style of Montessori and believe in hands-on learning and collaborative play!
• One-on-one support with children with additional needs
- I have experience working with neurodiverse, non-verbal and hard-of-hearing children.
• Working with children in an art therapy setting
• Facilitating arts workshops with children
• Babysitting and childminding
• I have a background in textiles and design and when I am not working with children, facilitate workshops with adults and work as a freelance artist.
My Qualifications
• I hold a BA (honours) in textile design from the Glasgow School of Art
• Tefl teaching certificate
• First aid trained
• Am currently undertaking Montessori assistant teacher training
• I am working towards a masters in art psychotherapy
My Availability
I am available from the end of April to work full-time during weekdays. I am also available to work the occasional evening.
