About Me

Hi. I have been teaching for 30+ years, half of which have been in the Early Years. I am looking to apply my skills to looking after children in their own home. I am a married Mum to three boys and live in Welwyn, AL6. I enjoy Aquafit, reading, and taking my dog for walks in the countryside. I love the joy and awe and wonder experiences with young children and enjoy helping them learn through play.

My Experience

As a working Mum of three boys, I am used to multi-tasking and dealing with their needs in a busy household. As an Early Years Teacher, I have a good knowledge of child development and I have lots of experience of early phonics, speech and language and maths. I am confident in delivering activities related to the 7 areas of learning, so crucial to helping their development. I have taught in schools and nurseries locally for many years. I recently updated my paediatric first aid training for children and babies and have had experience of teaching children with additional needs. Before teaching, I worked as a Nanny in Australia and have cared for children in their own homes locally. I have developed good relationships with the families I work with, supporting them and liasing with other professionals. I would be happy to attend baby/toddler groups and go on visits to help your child to interact with other children and learn new skills.

My Qualifications

10 'O' Levels, 3 'A' Levels. Bachelor of.Education (Hons) degree.

My Availability

At the moment I am available on Thursdays and Fridays and am looking for a local position to allow for flexibility.
