About Me
I’m Helen, a friendly, bubbly and creative person who genuinely loves spending time with children and getting to know the little people they are becoming.
My approach to childcare is centred around seeing each child as an individual. I love listening to children, following their interests and curiosities, and creating an environment where they feel comfortable being themselves. I encourage children to think independently, explore the world around them and develop their own unique personalities, while making sure they feel supported, listened to and valued.
I’m naturally very playful and creative, and I believe children learn so much through having fun. Music is a big part of my life and my approach to childcare. I’m almost always singing, making up silly songs, playing guitar or finding little ways to bring music into everyday activities. I love using music, movement, stories, messy play and creativity to help children explore, communicate and express themselves.
I’ve also been fortunate enough to travel and live in different countries, which has given me a real appreciation for different cultures, families and ways of doing things. These experiences have helped me become open-minded, adaptable and curious, and I try to bring that same attitude into my work with children.
Ultimately, I want children to feel safe, happy and heard around me, while having plenty of opportunities to play, explore, be curious and have a bit of fun along the way! ?
My Experience
Early Years & Nursery Experience
- Experience as a Nursery Practitioner, including having key children, planning activities, observing and monitoring development, and supporting children through daily routines.
- Experience working in a Kindergarten environment in India, with a strong focus on outdoor, messy, creative and child-led learning.
- Confident supporting children with different personalities, communication styles, interests and stages of development.
- Strong understanding of the importance of play, independence, emotional wellbeing and creating secure relationships with children.
Music & Creative Learning
- Level 4 qualified in Music Educators in Early Childhood.
- Experience delivering music sessions for babies, toddlers and preschool children in nursery and community settings, as well as intergenerational classes in residential care homes!
- Use singing, guitar, percussion, movement, musical games and sensory activities to support language, communication, confidence, listening and early cognitive development.
- Experience teaching music within a Kindergarten setting and creating fun, engaging musical activities for young children.
- Also a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, with a particular love of using music naturally throughout children's everyday routines and play.

My Fees
- Babysitting from £16.00 per hour
My fees will vary depending on the work required but between £14-18 per hour.
