The first few years of your child's life is so important. Right now your child's brain is growing very fast everyday. They are making so many amazing connections and they are learning to become Intune with their senses. By using their tongue for taste, nose for smell, and fingers for touch, they are learning all the time.
Your child's bright future starts here at Tiny Jibbies, where inquisitive minds seek answers, and every learning opportunity counts
I have organised my setting to meet children's needs and I endeavour to follow the EYFS statutory framework, as a guide, to ensure your child is thriving, and their little minds are growing.
Tiny Jibbies Tailor made Care and Education
Tiny Jibbies Babies
6 weeks to 2 years old
Key features:
. Smooth transitioning . sterilising bottles
. Cots . curriculum learning
. Sleeping area . outdoor fun
Having significant experience in the field of child care, I have enjoyed every moment supporting children to reach their next milestone. I am aware that it can be a little upsetting for both caregivers and babies, when they first separate from each other, however, I have a calm and gentle manner and understand detachment can be very hard to cope with at such a tender age. I can put strategies into place and we can work together to observe what works well for you and your child. My main aim is to make you and your child feel comfortable and create a smooth transition. When you visit my setting you will see how much I want to keep your child safe, loved and ready to explore their surroundings.
I have a shoe free environment, so as your child is ready for crawling, their little hands and mouth are safe from germs, as they go about their daily adventures. I have sleeping areas which are kept free from toys and blankets. The mattress has a fitted sheet and cots are see through so I can keep an eye on your child, while they nap.
Whether your baby is breastfed or bottle fed, I will ensure your baby is fed, happy and healthy. I encourage parents to prepare the bottles, and pack any other food for weaning in your child's bag. I will make sure these are stored correctly, washed after use and sterilised. Children will be encouraged throughout the day to maintain a healthy diet, drink water and eat fruits.
Tiny Jibbies aged 6 weeks to 2 years old, also have a curriculum too. I always follow the EYFS and use this as a guide to determine where to start with your child's learning journey. Providing plenty of opportunities for your little baby's brain to fully absorb and develop, is paramount . I have an array of activities which will keep your little one busy inquisitively seeking answers. Your child will become familiar with people and objects around them and they will want to explore their world. Making time for emotional development is important. Babies' feelings and emotions can be read by observing facial expression, sound and movements.
Learning to them talk, expressing themselves and learning movements are encouraged in the early years. My curriculum ensures they have plenty of opportunities to develop these skills.
Brain power and developing strong bodies are a vital part of a child's learning journey. I'm aware that providing activities which promote memory skills, engaging all five senses, and copying simple actions, all help to build a baby's brain power.
Exploring, discovering, circle time and outdoor fun are an essential part of learning, which supports children's development. I Provide babies time to come together and engage in all activities which promote social skills. This helps them to grow both mentally and physically.
Tiny Jibbies Toddlers 2 to 4 year olds
Key Features:
. indoor and outdoor . potty training
. Early phonics . brain power
. Numbers . routines
During my 25 years of being an Early years practitioner I have taught in a variety of nurseries and reception classes. I have delivered the national curriculum and have a record of outstanding practice. Part of my daily routine covered teaching Phonics, Maths, and ensuring children accessed all areas of development, through engaging activities.
My setting boasts a huge indoor and outdoor space which has enriched learning facilities. Everything is designed for tiny explorers to get themselves busy learning new and exciting skills. At this age they are confident with discovering new things everyday. Everything in my setting is at child level so children feel confident and safe to self-select.
Labels, visual cues and pictures illustrating routines and order of day, are apparent in the setting to help children navigate their way through the day.
Tiny Jibbies curriculum for 2 to 4 year olds has been specially created with the child's interests at heart. It includes circle time, story time, snack/dinner time, daily “early phonics” and numbers, but most of all plenty of PLAY TIME as children learn the most through play.
No matter what your toddlers love to do I can provide learning opportunities for your little one to explore. Your child's interests are very important as it enables me to provide age related fun filled activities, which promotes learning opportunities. Sharing, expressing themselves and building self worth is important at this age, so at Tiny Jibbies I give plenty of opportunities for dress up and role play. This gives time to explore, discover emotions, express feelings and create scenarios where they become different characters.
Building brain power and strong bodies are an essential part of your child's development. Plenty of exercise and following a Healthy diet are enhanced at this age and so important. Whether that be walking, hopping or jumping all will benefit your young toddler. Activities incorporate movement, thinking and spatial awareness. I provide time for activities like sorting, counting and measuring which helps your little one become familiar with maths and science. Your child's focus will become more apparent and routines will be familiar and easier to follow.
At this age it is often the time to start potty training. Working together and creating a home/settings toileting plan, will support your child to eventually have a dry day. This will build confidence within your child and they will learn that they can monitor toileting all by themselves.
Learning how to express their feelings, becoming critical thinkers and having opportunities to extend talking are also important at this tender age. Your child will engage in building their vocabulary one word at a time, then short phrases then full sentences. This all takes time, but with the support of one to one, and having an enriched curriculum, your child will build their word bank very quickly.
Your child will also engage in activities to promote writing/mark making, using different writing materials such as chalk, paint, and felt tips.
Children at Tiny Jibbies will have plenty of opportunities for reading in the story zone. They will be introduced to text in stories, and know that print gives information. It gives them the opportunities to learn what books are for, to turn pages one by one and to find a love for reading.
Tiny Jibbies are encouraged to explore their outside surroundings. They have opportunities to visit children's centres, libraries, play groups, local farms, and other exciting educational trips, which are incorporated into our daily provisions. I provide an engaging, well resourced, play based environment, where children are cared for exceptionally; Development and wellbeing is absolute paramount.

My Experience
Deciding to open Tiny Jibbies, a family owned Childminding service named after my daughter, has been one of my dreams since I was 7 years old. I was Intune with my imaginative development from a young age, and used shoes as a substitute for dolls, pretending they were the children in my class, and I was the school teacher. This fairy-tale has now flowed effortlessly into my life, which has lead me to having my own childcare setting. In my career, I have loved every second teaching and seeing children's dreams flourish into existence
My experience includes working in primary schools, private nurseries and caring for babies, for over 25 years, with outstanding records of practise. I have also worked as a learning mentor, where I worked closely with parents / carers and outside agencies. I encouraged young children primary school aged, to access the curriculum and progress at their own pace, ultimately bringing out their true potential. I believe every child deserves a chance to thrive in an enriched environment with experienced and caring educators.
