SEN TUTOR
Hello
I am a very calm laid back person who loves working with SEN children & their families to help them reach their full potential .
I adapt my teaching methods so that the child understands what is being asked of them and give them work appropriate to their level not their school year.
I have space during the day if your child is currently being home schooled or out of the education system .
It is SEN children that I am mainly looking to work with as I have realised there is a shortage of people willing to do this .
I am fit & healthy & a non smoker. I have a full clean uk driving licence.
I cover the Essex area.
My Experience
I have over 30 years experience working with children & raised 3 of my own children. I have worked in SEN schools as an LSA and also as a riding coach at a RDA centre.
I tutor several children in reception helping them with prewriting skills & trying to get them to engage with learning .
I also work with students in years 2/3 that need extra support to help them meet their school targets .I am working with two secondary school age children helping them with Maths & English & life skills, learning to tell the time etc.
I also work with older children preparing for GCSE's or Functional skills.
I support a child with Autism & ADHD three days a week in their home, I have worked with them for nearly 5 years now, I also support them outside of the home when needed, going on holiday with them.
I have worked with different age ranges from 3 up to 20 & with a vast array of needs. Ranging from behavioural to complex medical needs. I am willing to undergo further training so I can best support each individual and meet their needs.
I also work as a freelance riding coach.
I am an animal lover so am fine to be around all types of pets.
My Qualifications
Level 3 understanding Autism
Level 3 in Principles of Special Educational Needs
First Aid at Work
Currently doing Level 5 in Education & Training
My Availability
I can be fairly flexible with days and times and if I can swap things about to help I will.
My Fees
- Tutoring from £33.00 per hour
£33 an hour.
Plus travel at 45p a mile over 10 miles round trip.

We have had Debbie tutoring our SEND daughter for nearly 2 years. Debbie has been very conscious of Milli’s needs. She brings a variety of activities to work through which is taken at a good pace for Milli, making sure that she isn't left to struggle with work that maybe new or more challenging. This is due to Milli having confidence issues, anxiety and autism. Debbie has always been professional but also friendly and she makes sure that the child comes first in all aspects. We were really pleased to find her on here and would highly recommend her.

Debbie has been working with our 17 year old son on various subjects.. our son deals with a mixture of conditions .. Tourette’s, Autism , ADHD .. He thoroughly enjoys and learns very quickly with Debbie.. He looks forward to his tutoring and it has made such a positive change to his outlook and confidence.. Debbie is brilliant at was she does , understanding , patient and encourages lovely , educational conversations with subjects with our son. Not just giving information but discussing it, to ensure it’s understood.. thank you Debbie
