About Me
Hello, I am Natalie,
Little chestnuts is a home from home childminding setting opened in 2023. After working within a number of settings over the last 13 years,, Ihave been able to see how important these services are but how little spaces are available.
I am level 3 qualified in early years and I’m very excited for this new venture to begin to bring care, fun and exciting opportunities for little ones. I love the outdoors and going on adventures with the children.

My daughter attended Little Chestnuts from age 18 months up until age 3. From the very beginning, the setting created a warm, nurturing, and stimulating environment where my daughter truly thrived.
One of the most remarkable aspects of Little Chestnuts is the variety of enriching experiences provided. My daughter was regularly engaged in creative, educational, and outdoor activities that supported her curiosity and love of learning. It was clear that every activity was thoughtfully planned to support the children’s development while still being fun and engaging.
During her time at Little Chestnuts, my daughter’s development progressed beautifully. We saw significant growth in her confidence, communication skills, and social abilities, as well as in her physical development. Through a wide range of activities, she developed strong motor skills, improving her coordination, balance, and overall physical confidence. We also saw lovely early learning milestones, such as beginning to recognise her own name, which was a wonderful reflection of the supportive and engaging environment provided. The setting has a wonderful way of supporting each child as an individual, encouraging them to explore, ask questions, and develop at their own pace.
A particular strength of Little Chestnuts is how independence is fostered. My daughter was gently encouraged to take on age-appropriate responsibilities, such as helping with small tasks around the setting, tidying up after activities, and making simple choices throughout the day. She also developed excellent self-care skills, including managing her own belongings, washing her hands independently, and becoming confident in getting herself dressed and ready for different activities. These skills were nurtured with patience and encouragement, helping her build confidence and a strong sense of capability that has carried forward into her next stage of education.
Communication has always been excellent. The setting consistently kept us informed about daily activities, progress, and any important updates. Clear, open, and professional communication gave us complete confidence and peace of mind.
The setting itself is extremely well organised and managed. It is safe, welcoming, and thoughtfully structured, which creates a calm and secure environment for the children. The professionalism behind Little Chestnuts shines through in every aspect.
What truly sets Little Chestnuts apart are the special, thoughtful touches throughout the year. Whether celebrating holidays, milestones, or seasonal events, meaningful and sentimental experiences are created that the children (and parents) cherish. These moments made my daughter’s time there even more memorable.
Most importantly, my daughter absolutely loved attending Little Chestnuts. She formed strong friendships, felt completely at ease, and was always excited to go. As a parent, there is nothing more reassuring than knowing your child is happy, safe, and genuinely cared for.
I cannot recommend Little Chestnuts highly enough. The setting has had a lasting, positive impact on my daughter’s early years, and we are incredibly grateful for the care, dedication, and love provided.
