Hi! I’m 22 and currently in my fourth year studying Anthropology at the University of Edinburgh, but am originally from Newcastle. I’m easygoing, friendly, and love being outdoors, staying active, and meeting new people.
I’m really interested in going into childcare after University, as I genuinely enjoy working with kids and find their development and ways of thinking fascinating. I’ve been nannying and babysitting for several years now, and I take the role seriously while also making sure the time we spend together is fun, relaxed, and engaging.
I’ll be in Edinburgh for most of the year and am looking for some extra hours around my studies. I’m calm, reliable, and have a lot of patience - I know how to handle the chaos as well as the calm!
My Experience
I’ve worked as a nanny for nearly 2 years, looking after a lovely 9-year-old girl with ADHD, autism, and PDA. It was a really rewarding experience and taught me so much about patience, communication, and understanding different needs.
I also have years of babysitting experience with children aged 1 to 13, and I’ve worked in nurseries during the summer with little ones aged 1–4. I’m confident with all the essentials like nappy changing, potty training, and handling tricky moments like tantrums! I’ve also volunteered in a primary school, helping 5–8 year olds with reading, so I’m more than happy to support with homework or tutoring too.
I’m fully first aid trained for babies and children, with a proper qualification and certificate in level 6 paediatric first aid. I’m calm in a crisis, good at keeping kids entertained, and always aim to create a fun, safe and supportive environment. I’m also happy to help out around the house with cleaning or chores if needed — I’m organised and like to keep things tidy! I also have my car with me in Edinburgh so can do pick up and drop offs easily.
I genuinely love working with children and always try to make them feel heard, supported, and happy. You can feel confident that your kids are in safe, caring hands with me.
My Qualifications
I have a DBS check and a Level 3 Paediatric First Aid certificate, which included 6 hours of in-person training covering both babies and children. I’ve also completed training through a nannying agency I worked with in Edinburgh, which covered safeguarding, managing routines, basic cooking, supporting learning, and handling tricky behaviour.
My Availability
I will be away for Christmas until the 11th of January but after that will be free to do up to 12 hours per week or 2 separate days! I haven’t got my university timetable yet but will be able to rearrange things around your schedule.
