Exceptional level of care, above and beyond

Gay has been our son’s childminder for a year now, since he was 10 months old. As first-time parents, choosing someone to care for our baby in readiness for my return to work was a daunting decision, but we were quickly confident in our choice.

From the moment Jacob started with her, Gay has provided an exceptional level of care, creating a nurturing, home-from-home environment where he feels safe and loved. She demonstrates genuine affection for Jacob, which is evident in how happy and excited he is to be dropped off each day. This has been a tremendous relief for us as parents, knowing he is in such capable and caring hands; it makes it much easier to say goodbye in the morning when we watch Jacob willingly reach out to her with a big smile on his face, and quickly cuddles into her chest.

Gay keeps us consistently informed about Jacob’s day-to-day activities and wellbeing. She shares regular updates on his mood, milestones, eating habits, and any concerns she might observe, ensuring we always feel connected to his experiences while he is in her care. When Jacob has been unwell or absent, she has regularly checked in with us, and had taken steps to monitor his health - such as checking his temperature - if he seems out of sorts when in her care. Her attentiveness has given us peace of mind and reassured us of his wellbeing.

She enriches Jacob’s development by taking him to playgroups and children's activity centres, providing opportunities for social interaction and new experiences. These activities have been instrumental in helping Jacob build confidence and engage with other children; he has a genuine love for "big kids" and is delighted whenever he sets eyes on another child, something that he has picked up from his time with Gay and her other charges.

Additionally, Gay ensures that Jacob has nutritious, homemade meals, which further supports his health and growth.

What sets Gay apart is the love and dedication she shows toward the children in her care. Her home feels like an extension of our own, and Jacob has truly thrived under her guidance. We have complete confidence in her ability to provide a safe, loving, and enriching environment for him.

We cannot recommend Gay highly enough and are grateful for the positive impact she has had on Jacob’s life and our own.
