About Me

Hello, my name is Kathleen I am 21 years old . I am student at Manchester Metropolitan University, currently studying Sports Coaching and Youth Leadership in partnership with Manchester United Foundation. I live in media city, Salford

I was born in London, but at the age of 2 years old I moved to Hong Kong due to my parents’ jobs, which gave me a strong appreciation for different cultures and lifestyles. Then when I was 16years old I moved back to the UK. I moved to Cheadle Hulme with my mum to be closer to family, where I completed a BTEC in Business before pursuing my passion at university for working with children and young people through sport.

I hold a Level 1 Tennis Coaching qualification through the LTA and have experience coaching young children at David Lloyd Cheadle. In addition, I have extensive babysitting experience, having cared for children aged 6 months to 12 years in both Hong Kong and the UK. I’ve supported many families and also regularly look after my 14 younger cousins, which has taught me patience, flexibility, and how to create a fun and safe environment for children of all ages.

As part of my university course last academic year, I completed two placements:
• One working alongside children with special educational needs for 12 weeks through the Manchester United Foundation, supporting inclusive and engaging physical activity sessions.
• The other at Abraham Moss School, where I shadowed a PE teacher and gradually took the lead in planning and delivering lessons, helping pupils build confidence, skills, and teamwork.

Being adopted myself, I understand the value of creating a positive, supportive, and nurturing environment for children. I’m passionate about making a difference in their lives, helping them feel happy, safe, and encouraged to be themselves.

Families often describe me as confident, caring, responsible, and full of positive energy and I aim to bring those qualities to every childcare role I take on.
