About Me

Hello, I’m Clair!

I’m a friendly, experienced nanny with over 20 years of experience working with children from newborns through to teenagers, and young adults, including children with SEN.

I currently nanny for a lovely family in Oxted and am looking for another wonderful family to work with on the days I’m not with them.. I am available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and/or Thursdays.

For me, being a nanny is about so much more than simply looking after children. I love becoming someone they feel happy, safe and comfortable with, while also helping them grow in confidence and independence. I’m very hands-on and love getting involved — whether that’s crafts, baking, swimming, days out, messy play, homework, imaginative games or turning an everyday job into something fun!

My motto has always been “having fun gets the job done” — even homework and tidying are much easier when you can find a way to make them enjoyable!

I’m NVQ Level 2 qualified and have extensive experience in nurseries, primary schools, nannying and SEN settings. My training and experience includes EYFS, safeguarding, PECS, Attention Autism, food hygiene and health & safety, and I also have knowledge of Makaton.

I have a full DBS, am a non-smoker, have my own car and am very happy around pets.

I’m reliable, caring, patient and cheerful, but I also understand the importance of routine, boundaries and working together with parents. I really value becoming part of a family and building a relationship where parents know their children are safe, happy and genuinely cared for.

And yes… I still like to think I’m a little bit Mary Poppins — although sadly the flying umbrella has yet to materialise!
