April
Babysitter in Morley
My Summary
About Me
Hi, I’m April! I’m currently studying Primary Education (5–11), so I’m really passionate about working with children and supporting their learning and development. I can also help with any homework/ tutoring as well. And I am DBS checked.
I have experience working with children aged 3–12, and I have experience supporting children with SEND, where I aim to be patient, understanding, and adaptable to each child’s individual needs.
I’m a friendly, caring, and reliable person who loves creating a fun, safe, and engaging environment. I enjoy being playful and a bit silly, whether that’s through games, imaginative play, or creative activities—but I also know when to keep structure and routines in place, like homework time or bedtime.
Through my studies, I’ve developed a strong understanding of child development, behaviour, and communication. I’m always attentive, calm, and supportive, making sure children feel comfortable, happy, and listened to.
I’m punctual, organised, and happy to help with light household tasks if needed. I’m really looking forward to supporting families and building positive relationships with both parents and children!
My Experience
I have a wide range of experience working with children aged 1–12 across different settings. I have completed three school placements as part of my Primary Education degree, in Year 4, Year 1 and Year 5/5. I supported teaching, led activities, and helped children with their learning, development, and behaviour.
I have also worked in a private nursery, caring for younger children and supporting their daily routines, including play, learning activities, and emotional wellbeing.
In addition, I have over 3 years of experience as a SEND Teaching Assistant, where I supported children with a range of additional needs. This role has helped me develop strong skills in patience, adaptability, and creating inclusive, supportive environments tailored to individual children.
Alongside this, I have taught dance for over 6 years to children aged 3–12. This has strengthened my confidence in leading groups, planning engaging activities, and building positive, trusting relationships with children while encouraging creativity and confidence.
Overall, my experience has given me a strong understanding of child development, behaviour management, and how to create fun, safe, and engaging environments where children feel happy and supported.
