About Me

Hey, I'm Lizzie, I'm a registered childminder working alongside my husband Steve. We offer a cosy, home from home setting where your little ones can learn without knowing it.

Our days follow the little ones interests and some of the things we get up to include visiting the library, local nature walks, going to Wheelgate, teddy bear picnics, lots of crafts and messy play, singing, yoga and reading and lots more.

I follow the danish principles of Hygge within the setting which focus’s on warmth, security and wellbeing, allowing a child to follow their current needs and interests in order to learn and grow with confidence. We are a small home from home setting but we have a big focus on being outdoors, nothing beats fresh air and the freedom for little ones to explore!

In our home is myself, my husband Steve who is my registered assistant - our three girls 9, 6 and 4, Douglas, Pepper and Luna our cats, and Beaux our Spaniel.

My Experience

I opened North Star 2 years ago, and now work alongside my husband who joined me last year. I am also currently studying towards my Psychology degree.

My Availability

I'm available Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm, with term time only spaces and some limited all year spaces for birth to 3 years.
During the holidays we operate Monday to Thursday to allow time with our own girls.
I accept various funding options including working parent funding from 9 months old, tax free childcare & student finance. If you're unsure please just ask.
