About Me
I’m a retired father of 2 boys, now grown up. I’ve been in customer service most of my working life. I was a first aider for over 30 years, have worked for northants police as a special constable for 5 years.
I live in a small village, where I have been a volunteer bus driver for over 30 years - this entails driving villagers into town for shopping, private hire and occasional school runs. I have a basic teaching qualification and lots of common sense. I think I’m very approachable, confident, outgoing and reassuring.
My Experience
I’m a father of 2 boys, one 26 and the other 24, both boys very successful in totally different careers.
I’ve supported our local school on day trips, taught various skills to students within the motor industry, the prison service and Duke of Edinburgh awards scheme. I have looked after my 2 sons from birth, as my wife was a full time nurse, then a care manager for Northamptonshire Council. I have a full UK driving licence, with enhanced skills through Northants Police, having worked for Volvo for over 20 years, child safety in cars is essential, having the correct size seats appropriate for the child you’re transporting. During summer holidays, I put on events in our village, where children could play badminton, football, tennis etc.. proving food and refreshments.
I own a public house, but no longer work there, so I am very used to cleaning, cleaning up after people and I have a passion for cooking.
I have been enhanced CRB checked regularly for the last 30 years and the welfare and safety of minors, the vulnerable and the elderly is my highest priority.

Unfortunately none of my qualifications are in child care, I am very capable and I’m very happy to be assessed, take courses etc.. but at present I have
no suitable qualifications - just vast amounts of life skills.

I am very flexible with my time as I have only just retired.
