About Me
I am a student at Queen Elizabeth High School, Hexham, with a strong academic record, including GCSEs in nine subjects with top grades in English, Maths, and Sciences. I earned an A* in my Extended Project Qualification, researching the positive impact that interactions with animals can have on children's mental well-being. I have achieved Bs in A-level Biology, Psychology and Spanish and have recently started my degree in Psychology in Education at the University of York. I am looking for a role alongside my studies working with children and young people. I enjoy spending time with my family including being outdoors with our two dogs. After university I aim pursue a career working with children and young people.
My Experience
I am a friendly, hardworking, and enthusiastic student with recent experience in childcare and customer service. I have worked with children aged 3 to 9 at Beaufront First School and as an assistant karate instructor, where I was responsible for engaging and supervising small groups of children. Feedback from the Deputy Headteacher at Beaufront First School highlighted my ability to follow directions, my excellent interactions with children, and my dedication to tasks. With strong A-levels and practical training in Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, and customer service, I am well-equipped to provide exceptional childcare for school-aged children under 11. I am committed to creating a safe, fun, and educational environment for all children in my care and have recently submitted an application for a DBS check.
My Qualifications
I achieved GCSEs in 9 subjects: Biology; Chemistry; English Literature; English Language; French; History, Maths; Physics and Spanish. Including 3 Grade 7s, 5 Grade 8s and 1 Grade 9. I achieved Grade 7s in English Language and Literature and in Maths.
I achieved an A* in my Extended Project Qualification. I have recently completed my A-level exams in Biology (predicted B) and Psychology (predicted A*). I am still studying A-level Spanish, which I am predicted an A in, and will complete my exams in this course in 2025.
My Availability
I will have five contact hours a week at school for no more than two hours on any day between 9am and 3:20pm. This means I would be able to drop off and pick up every day, although I won't know my exact timing until the end of August.
