My Summary

My Experience

I have experience working as a Nursery Assistant across different nursery settings, where I supported children’s daily routines, encouraged learning through play, and adapted quickly to new environments and teams. This role helped me develop patience, responsibility, and strong communication skills.

As a Playworker, I supervised children in a fun and educational setting, organising creative activities and supporting their social and emotional development. I learned how to create a safe, engaging environment while working closely with colleagues and families.

I also worked as a Camp Counsellor in the US, supporting children aged 7–15 in both activity and residential settings. This role strengthened my leadership, teamwork, and behaviour management skills while helping children build confidence and enjoy new experiences.

Alongside childcare, I have customer service experience as a Shop Assistant in a charity retail environment. I assisted customers, maintained shop displays, and supported the day-to-day running of the shop, developing strong people skills and confidence in busy environments.

My Qualifications

While I do not currently hold specific childcare qualifications, I have gained several years of hands-on experience working with children through roles as a Nursery Assistant, Playworker, and Camp Counsellor. These roles have helped me develop practical communication skills, safeguarding awareness, behaviour management, teamwork, and create safe, engaging environments for children.

Alongside this, I am currently studying Sociology at Manchester Metropolitan University, which has strengthened my understanding of people, social development, communication, and different individual needs.
