About Me
Hi! I'm Lara, a 25-year-old currently living in the heart of Totnes. Over the past year, I’ve been studying Regenerative Food and Farming at Schumacher College in Dartington, where I’ve been able to explore and expand my deep love for the natural world and my passion for growing. I love spending time outdoors, letting my curiosity guide me in exploring nature’s wonders. Prior to moving to Totnes, I lived in the Netherlands, where I studied fine art and worked as a beekeeper.
At current moment, I spend most of my time to growing my own food, cooking, walking, and working on creative projects. Unfortunately, my studies at Schumacher came to an unexpected halt when the college closed, which has left me with more free time than anticipated. I've always had a natural affinity for working with children, and I’m hoping to spend some of this free time babysitting. I’m excited to bring my nurturing, creative, and nature-focused approach to spending time with your little ones!
My Experience
With about 8 years of experience in childcare, I have had the pleasure of working with children of all ages, from newborns to pre-teens. I’ve worked with children in several settings , from babysitting and organising creative workshops to teaching children in primary schools. Whilst being an active biodynamic beekeeper, I have led interactive lessons about nature, bees, and other insects at primary schools. While living in the Netherlands, I was also involved in teaching children about gardening, helping them connect with the environment through engaging, practical lessons. Over these years I have been dedicated to creating a warm, safe, fun, and educational atmosphere for the children I work with.
My Qualifications
I hold a degree in Fine Art, and now also a CertHE in Regenerative Food and Farming. I have also had paediatric first aid training.
My Availability
Very flexible with my time and schedule!
Preferably hoping to find a more regular babysitting job.
