MY APPROACH
Every child is an individual. My philosophy has always been to start with the child — their challenges, their needs, their interests and passions and how they work best. The emphasis is on ensuring the child experiences success and grows in confidence so they are able to engage with the next steps in their educational journey. Learning should be engaging and fun!
Parents and carers are involved throughout, but I also encourage children to be confident and independent through building positive relationships, a safe learning space and time to express themselves.
My aim is for children to leave each session with a smile, knowing they have learned something but also feeling they have been heard and valued for being themselves and are looking forwards to the next session.
WHAT I CAN OFFER
Maths, English and the wider curriculum.
Individual online tuition
Support for home schooling — short or long term.
Support with specific topics, SATs preparation, ongoing support with schoolwork or short term catch up programmes.
Each programme is planned around your child’s individual needs, interests and learning styles.

My Experience
I’m a retired headteacher with 20 years as a secondary and primary teacher and over 20 years as a successful primary head teacher.
I’ve worked extensively with SEND children and children with school anxiety as well as leading SATs preparation and interventions.
My Qualifications
An enhanced DBS certificate
BSc in Psychology and Education,
Post-graduate Certificate of Education
Diploma in Primary Maths Education
NPQH (headship qualification).
My Availability
I offer one hour sessions, but these can be delivered as two half hour sessions (Thursday and Friday) if that works better for your child.
My Fees
- Tutoring from £30.00 per hour
Sessions are £30 per hour.
