My Experience

I have a strong background in childcare and education, with experience working with children across a range of settings. I completed an HNC in Childhood Practice, which gave me a strong foundation in child development, safeguarding, supporting children’s individual needs and learning through play. I am currently in my second year of studying Primary Education, where I am continuing to develop my knowledge and practical experience of children’s learning, development and wellbeing.

I also spent two summers working at Camp America, gaining valuable experience caring for children in a residential camp environment. This involved taking responsibility for children’s safety and wellbeing, supervising groups, planning and participating in activities, supporting children with their daily routines and helping them to develop confidence and independence. The experience also taught me how to manage different personalities and needs within a group and adapt activities to suit the children I was working with.

Alongside my studies, I have worked in an after-school club, gaining hands-on experience caring for children after school, supervising play, supporting activities and mealtimes, and helping to maintain a safe and positive environment. I have also provided babysitting for families, including caring for a one-year-old, where I followed the family’s routines, prepared food, supported play and provided age-appropriate care and activities.

Through my combination of childcare employment, Camp America experience, babysitting and my studies in Childhood Practice and Primary Education, I have developed experience working with children of different ages and in different environments. I am confident following parents’ routines and instructions and adapting my approach to meet each child’s individual needs.

My Availability

I am currently studying at university, so my availability can vary slightly depending on my placement days and timetable. At the moment, I am available from around 4:30pm onwards during the week and have full availability at weekends. I am happy to discuss specific requirements and will always aim to be as flexible and reliable as possible.
