My Experience

I have experience of teaching children with a whole range of abilities including those with Special Educational Needs, supported children through their SATs, both year 2 and year 6 and taught verbal and non-verbal reasoning strategies to those preparing for Grammar and Independent School entrance exams (CSSE, FCSE and GL). I have also supported children through GCSE Maths and English Language and Literature. I have experience of tutoring and mentoring children who are homeschooled.

Children have different interests and learning styles therefore my lessons are tailored to the individual child in question. I aim to get to know your child as a person, not just a pupil, so that the personalised sessions create an environment where they feel comfortable enough to challenge themselves and realise their potential. My planning and organisational skills have always been commented upon very favourably. I believe that children should be encouraged to become independent learners and so my aim is to support children in developing their problem-solving skills, creative thinking and understanding of why rather than simply teaching formulas.

Masters in Education: Leadership and Management
BA (Hons) Primary Education with QTS
