My Experience

I come from a big family with eight siblings and lots of nieces and nephews, so I’ve naturally grown up helping with children of all ages. I’m the second youngest, but I’ve always been the one to help keep the little ones entertained, calm, and safe. I love playing with kids, helping with homework, and creating a warm, respectful environment. While I haven’t worked in formal childcare yet, I have real hands-on experience and a natural connection with children. I’m reliable, patient, and I truly enjoy being around kids.

I believe everyday moments can be turned into fun learning experiences. I enjoy cooking and often like to involve children with safe, simple kitchen activities. I also love helping with homework, reading stories, and making learning exciting through singing, dancing, and creative play.

One of my favourite memories was setting up a “mini school” for my siblings during the holidays — making up lessons with arts, crafts, and games that kept them engaged and learning without even realising. I’ve also helped my younger siblings with reading and homework, and it’s always rewarding to see their confidence grow when they master something new.

I enjoy outdoor play just as much — whether that’s sports in the park, exploring nature, or organising small challenges and games. These moments help children learn teamwork, patience, and problem-solving while still having fun. Even simple routines, like comforting a child when they’re upset or getting them ready for bed, feel meaningful to me because they build a safe and supportive environment.

My Qualifications

I have hands-on childcare experience with a wide age range, from toddlers (age 3) up to teenagers (age 16).

I babysat for a lovely family with two children (ages 2 and 6) for about 1 year and 7 months in a regular role. My responsibilities included:
• Creating a safe, caring, and fun environment after school and sometimes in the evenings.
• Reading stories to encourage a love of books.
• Helping with homework and making learning enjoyable.
• Preparing simple, healthy meals and involving the children in safe kitchen activities.
• Supervising both indoor and outdoor playtime.
• Supporting evening routines, including winding down, tidying up after activities, and helping the children feel calm and comfortable before bed.

Through this role, I built a strong bond with both the children and their parents. It was rewarding to watch the children grow more confident, independent, and enthusiastic about learning.

My hourly rate reflects the level of care, reliability, and experience I bring. I focus on creating a safe, calm, and fun environment where children feel supported and valued. I enjoy cooking simple, healthy meals, organising creative play (arts, crafts, singing, dancing), and encouraging children to explore both indoors and outdoors.
