My Experience

Over the past few years, I have gained experience caring for a variety of children.

2 years ago I volunteered at Camp Bestival working in the children’s field, doing glitter tattoos, henna, facepaint and hair on children of varying ages, whilst simultaneously keeping them entertained and happy. I had the best time and engaged in so many wonderful conversations with so many youngsters! (And also got covered in glitter, haha!)

I have also looked after my 2 younger cousins on several occasions, engaging in activities such as football or frisbee in the garden, teaching them how to play a bit of piano, or even doing some baking together which was often a favourite!

Additionally, I regularly look after my younger stepbrother who is severely autistic, as well as ADHD, BPD and bipolar. This has taught me so much about how to care for children with special needs and communicate with them in an appropriate way, and has broadened my skill set to enable me to look after a very large variety of children.

I have also done babysitting for 2 young boys, where I cooked them dinner, engaged in collaborative arts and crafts, watched a movie with them and read them bed time stories until they fell asleep. They both remained happy and engaged, and on the rare occasion that they became stroppy I would make sure to remain calm and patient, accommodate their needs and listen to them, responding in an appropriate and calm way.

Furthermore, I currently work in a music studio called Monster Studios, where I deliver public service, money exchange, take bookings and clean. I am often on shift when a young band consisting of children below the age of 13 regularly come to rehearse. They are always full of energy and I am able to deal with their chaotic behaviour in a calm way, making sure they have fun whilst also being disciplinary if they are disrespectful to the studio. This means that I am well trained when it comes to being approachable to new people and handling energetic children.

As an additional note, I also have experience looking after pets (dogs, cats, guinea-pigs) so if you need any extra hands to help with pets as well as your child I’d be more than happy to help!

My Qualifications

I got high grades in all my GCSEs (English Literature-7, English Language-8, Mathematics-6, Religion and Worldviews-5, Combined Science-5-6, Geography-7, Fine Art-7, Spanish-7)

I am predicted high grades in my A levels (Music BTEC-Distinction*, Graphic Design-A, Environmental Science-B). I recently finished college and will be receiving my final results later in the year.

My Availability

My availability is very flexible because I am on my gap year, meaning I can work on your terms and work around bookings! I am essentially free to work all day any day (within reason) and intend to prioritise bookings over other commitments.
