About Me
I am a qualified teacher and private SEN tutor who specialises in supporting children with additional needs. I can create bespoke curriculums and support them to achieve their goals and outcomes.
I have a level 3 in Residential Childcare and worked in children’s homes for some years. I also have personal experience as a mum of a 4 year old girl.
My Experience
I have been a SEN tutor for 3 years and teacher for 2 years. I specialise in 1:1 tuition that meets each learner exactly where they are, adapting to their pace, interests, and preferred learning style. Many of the young people I work with have had negative experiences in school, so my priority is to create a safe, calm, and supportive learning environment that promotes both personal and academic growth.
I also have years of experience working with children in residential homes which included caring for them, preparing them for school, taking them to activities, cooking, cleaning etc.
I have a 4 year old daughter and therefore have experience with looking after babies and young children.
My Qualifications
I am a qualified teacher with a PGCE in Primary Education and Early Years. I have a degree in Education with Psychology and Counselling. I have completed several CPD courses including Special Educational Needs, Learning Through Play, ADHD awareness and Autism awareness.
I hold a level 3 Diploma in Residential Chilcare.
I have annual safeguarding training.
My Availability
I have regular availability in the mornings and afternoons and sometimes have availability after school and evenings.
