My Summary
About Me
Hi, I’m Yusra. I come from a big, lively family—I’m the oldest of six siblings, with four younger than me and two little ones I’ve helped care for since they were babies. Growing up in a busy household taught me how to be responsible from a young age, but it also gave me something even more important: a love for being around children.
My house was always full of energy, noise, and love. Being the big sibling meant I naturally stepped into a caring role—helping with feeds, school runs, tantrums, games, cuddles, and everything in between. It didn’t feel like a chore to me; it just felt like family. That’s where my passion for working with children really began.
Because of that upbringing, I’ve grown into someone who’s very sociable, cheerful, and easy to connect with—especially with kids. Over the years, I’ve worked with children in different settings and loved every minute of it. Whether it’s helping with homework, playtime, routines, or just being a kind and patient presence, I genuinely enjoy being part of a child’s day.
My Experience
I’ve looked after children in a range of settings, both personally and professionally. I started by helping care for my own younger siblings—especially the two youngest—from a very early age. I was regularly involved in feeding, changing nappies, playtime, helping with schoolwork, bedtime routines, and generally being a supportive big sister. Outside of home, I volunteered at a mainstream primary school where I supported teachers in the classroom, helped with reading and creative activities, supervised playtime, and worked one-on-one with children who needed extra attention. I then worked as a teaching assistant in a special educational needs (SEN) school, where I supported children with a wide range of abilities. My responsibilities there included personal care, sensory play, communication support, and helping children feel safe and engaged in their learning. These experiences have made me confident, adaptable, and passionate about caring for children in all kinds of environments.
