About Me
Hello, my name is Fern.
I am a positive, conscientious individual and I take pride in treating people with a friendly, respectful and caring attitude. I really value the essence of being a child. I find it the most precious stages of our existence as humans and love seeing/experiencing the world through the eyes of a child. I'm outgoing, confident, patient and have a calm temperament which I find are great attributes to have around children, helping them to know they are safe and their needs will be taken care of. I'm always happiest either crafting, creating something or tending to plants with my hands in the soil. I have a great imagination and find it easy to engage with play and coming up with activity ideas.
My Experience
I come from a very big family with lots of little ones running around. I currently have 4 great-niblings aging from 1-7 years old and my youngest niece is 11 years old. I will often look after them on my own, at my house, their house or out and about. I am very comfortable and confident with all ranges of care from nappy changes to wiping snot to food prep. I have worked a variety of jobs that I believe have given me a range of transferrable skills that would help me excel in this role, such as being organised and practical, a confident and effective communicator as well as an ability to use my initiative.
My Qualifications
Although I don't have qualifications currently, I believe that my experience and knowledge from the care of the children in my life has given me a strong foundation. I am therefore extremely confident that I will be able to meet both the needs of your children as well as your own. If there are any qualifications you would like me to have, we can discuss this further. I am currently in the process of getting my DBS check.
