About Me
I’m a mum to a 13 year old and have lived in Ascot for over 30 years. I’ve been in Education for 25 years and have decided to take on a new adventure and open my own home up to become a childminder called Over The Moon.
We are are open Monday- Friday all year round from 8am-5pm . Our day rate is £85 a day and we are Ofsted registered and can accept funding. I am a fully qualified EYFS teacher of over 20 years and my colleague has been a nursery manager for 15 + years and is also a mum. I have transformed a large space of my home into a wonderful, safe and exploratory play area for young children to flourish and have fun and learn. We offer breakfast , snacks and a light tea throughout the day - lunch to be provided. Children have access to our lovely, well equipped garden with our hand made mud kitchen. We go on frequent local walks to a duck pond nearby and can walk to Ascot racecourse within 5 mins so love getting out and about. We have travel cots set up with monitors in the spare rooms for the little ones that need a sleep. We would be more than happy to book you in for a visit in August and be more than happy to help.
My Experience
I have worked in both private and mainstream primary schools for 25 years and I fell in love with working with special needs children , primarily young children with Autism. I qualified as a young teacher , gaining endless experience and working my way up to be the Deputy head of the school where I was a Senior Leader for a decade. I then chose to re focus my attention to my family and myself and have taken the plunge to become a childminder as my true passion lies with being with the children and supporting them in their early development to get them ready for the big world of school.
My Qualifications
Fully qualified teacher for 20 years in Early years and Primary Education
BA Hons degree in English Lit from Bristol University
Multiple diplomas/ qualifications in supporting Autism and SEN.
Fully trained in PECs, makaton and Speech and Language.
Fully trained in the delivery of the RWI reading and phonics scheme and the ELS reading/ phonics scheme
Full DBS check
Paediatric First aid trained
Full, clean drivers licence and own car
Level 7 DSL Safeguarding training
