Hi, I’m Jackie! I’m a warm, caring and bubbly person who genuinely loves being around children. I’m someone who is naturally patient and easy-going, and I enjoy getting to know children, finding out what they enjoy and making sure they feel comfortable and happy around me.
I’m very hands-on and love getting involved rather than just sitting back and supervising. Whether that’s playing games, getting creative, going to the park, watching their favourite film or simply having a chat, I’m always happy to get involved and make the time enjoyable for them.
I understand that every child is different, so I always try to work around their personality, interests and routines. I’m also reliable, responsible and someone parents can feel comfortable trusting with their children.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, going out and keeping busy. I’m looking forward to meeting new families and hopefully becoming someone they can rely on for regular babysitting and childcare.
My Experience
I have several years of hands-on experience caring for children, both personally and professionally. I have four younger siblings and I’m also a godmum to two children, who I regularly babysit and spend time with. I love taking them out, keeping them entertained and getting involved in their day-to-day routines. Caring for children has always been a big part of my life, and it’s something I genuinely enjoy.
Professionally, I worked as a Children’s Support Worker for three years, supporting young people with a range of emotional, behavioural and additional needs. My role involved much more than simply supervising children. I supported with personal care, preparing meals, cleaning and household chores, activities and daily routines, as well as providing emotional support and reassurance. I built really strong and trusting relationships with the children I supported, getting to know their individual personalities, needs and interests and making sure they felt comfortable, listened to and understood.
I’m also experienced in supporting children through meltdowns, crisis situations and challenging behaviours. I’ve learnt how to stay calm under pressure, understand what a child may be communicating through their behaviour and help them feel safe and settled. Safeguarding was an important part of my role, and I take children’s safety and wellbeing very seriously.
I currently work as a registered adult nurse, which has given me additional experience in first aid, CPR, nutrition, recognising changes in someone’s health and responding appropriately if a child becomes unwell or needs help. I’m looking for some extra work alongside nursing, and although I’m an adult nurse, working with children has always been a real passion of mine. This is one of the reasons I’ve chosen to offer babysitting alongside my nursing career. I’m DBS registered to work with children and I’m happy to provide references.

My Fees
- Babysitting from £13.00 per hour
My standard rate is £13 per hour. I’m happy to discuss rates depending on the number of children, hours required and any additional responsibilities.
