My Experience

My caregiving journey began within my own family, where I helped care for children of all ages. I also have personal experience supporting an autistic child in my extended family, which taught me the importance of compassionate care, patience, and communication.

Professionally, I’ve babysat for fellow university students during my educational career, including here in the MPP program. These roles involved after-school care, meal prep, play-based learning, bedtime routines, and creating screen-free activities tailored to each child’s interests and abilities.

While I do not hold formal certifications in special needs care, my hands-on experience with neurodivergent children makes me comfortable and confident in adapting to individual needs and energy levels.

My Qualifications

Extensive Informal Childcare Experience: Over a decade of caregiving within my large joint family, caring for children ranging from newborns to grade schoolers.

Experience with Special Needs: Personal caregiving experience with an autistic child in my extended family has equipped me with sensitivity, patience, and adaptability.

Part-Time Babysitting During Studies: Regular babysitting roles for peers and families during my academic career, including current students in my Master of Public Policy (MPP) program.

Creative and Engaging Approach: Skilled in storytelling, dramatized reading, arts and crafts, painting, dance, and cooking—focused on keeping children happily engaged without screen time.

Strong Educational Background: Currently pursuing a Master’s in Public Policy at the London School of Economics (LSE), with strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.

Multilingual and Culturally Sensitive: Comfortable interacting with children from diverse backgrounds, and able to communicate in English, Hindi, Urdu.
