About Me
I have recently moved to Southport from North London. I love baking, card making, musical theatre, a range of sports (especially anything water related), and caring for many indoor plants. I was classically educated at home and have recently finished my BA (Hons) degree in theology.
My Experience
I have worked as a preschool practitioner (02/10/18-19/07/19, 08/03/21-23/07/21). My role included providing care for a diverse group of children and being attentive to their needs. Some of my responsibilities in this role included monitoring the development and progress of my key children, being involved with meeting parents to discuss their child’s progress and any concerns they may have, planning and leading age-appropriate, educational group time, and supporting children 1-1 in developmental activities.
Over the last year I looked after a 2 and 4 year old part time. I played with them, provided educational activities, and took them to the park, library, and a local play groups. As the 4 year old was reception age, I assisted in teaching her phonics, maths, reading, and writing while her younger sister napped. I would prepare them lunch and in the summer we often went for picnics. While I was working for them the mother had another baby and so I happily helped around the house with dishes, other household tasks, and would make the mother lunch if she wasn't able to due to looking after baby.
I have a passion for caring for children and young people with disabilities and additional needs. I've worked 1-1 with autistic children, and have experience with ADHD and PDA. I have extensive experience babysitting. Additionally, I have experience working with a wide range of ages at a variety of holiday camps.
My Qualifications
While I don't have any formal qualifications, I believe my wide range of experiences enable me to provide a high level of attentive and thoughtful care.
