About Me
I am passionate about children, their welfare and safety. My love for children led me to teaching career and I obtained a National Certificate in Education (NCE), which qualifies one to teach children up to 14 years in Nigeria. I also got a Bachelor's degree.
I have been a teacher with over 15 years experience and working with children in Sunday school, Nursery, Primary and Secondary schools in Nigeria at different times.
Now, I am in the UK to study PGCE Secondary Science (Physics) with QTS at Edge Hill University St. Helens Road Ormskirk Lancashire where I will get a world-class teacher-training certificate and qualifications to stand out.
As my student visa allows work limit 20 hours per week and my course includes placement in schools, term time, I have chosen childcare weekend/part-time work to gain more skills, experience and continue with my passion for children welfare.
My Experience
I served in the Church I attended as a children Sunday-school teacher: story telling, drama, mimicking, dancing, eating, drinking, clapping and all sorts of children-engaging activities were the order of every church service. Here, children 6 months to 11 years were under my care as their parents were in the adult congregation.
After my degree course while waiting for National Youth Service in Nigeria, i stayed with my elder sister where I took care of her four children (1, 3 ,8 and 10 years of age) and the house while she was busy with studies and work, and the husband was busy with travels and business.
I have also worked as a teacher in charge of children aged 1 to 3 years and their minders in a school in Nigeria. I have worked as class teacher in different primary schools and Science teacher in different secondary schools, all in Nigeria.
