My Summary
About Me
I’m 21 and currently studying Modern Languages at Newcastle University, though I’m originally from London. I’ve just come back from my year abroad in Germany, which was an amazing experience and has made me even more excited about learning new things and meeting new people.
Outside of university, I love to read and do crafts — especially painting and sewing — and I also enjoy cooking and trying out new recipes. I’m training for a half marathon next year to raise money for Alzheimer’s UK, which has been a big challenge but something I’m really motivated about.
Family is very important to me, and I spend a lot of my free time with my six nieces and nephews, who are aged between 2 and 12. Being around them has given me lots of hands-on experience with children of different ages, and I love joining in with their games, crafts and adventures.
I’d describe myself as friendly, reliable and down-to-earth, and I enjoy making the most of my time with the people around me.
My Experience
I have over three years of experience working with children aged 3–11 in different settings, including after school clubs, summer clubs and as a teaching assistant. I’ve really enjoyed getting to know children as individuals and supporting them through play, learning and day-to-day routines.
I’ve worked with children with a range of needs, including those who require a little extra support, and I’m confident in creating a calm, caring and fun environment where every child feels included. I’ve spent time doing one-to-one work, helping children build confidence and reach their own personal goals, but I also love getting involved in group activities where we can be creative and active together.
Some of my favourite things to plan are arts and crafts, outdoor games, and music activities. I’m also a big believer in keeping things fun while making sure children feel safe, listened to and happy.
I’m reliable, patient and approachable, and I always aim to give children a positive and enjoyable experience while in my care.
My Qualifications
In terms of qualifications, I have 11 GCSEs, including strong grades in English Language (8), English Literature (8) and Maths (7). I went on to complete the International Baccalaureate with 32 points, and I’m now in my final year at Newcastle University studying for a BA in Modern Languages.
Alongside my studies, I complete annual primary school safeguarding training and I am familiar with Keeping Children Safe in Education, which has been really valuable in my work with children.
My Availability
