About Me
I’m a fun, friendly and kind 28 year old girl who loves working with children. I grew up with au pairs for years, so I know exactly the role and duties required of a nanny/babysitter and I have lots of experience in babysitting. I have also been to a summer camp in America twice where I was a leader/counsellor for the children for 1 month, and I was looking after children between the ages of 6 and 12.
I am currently working as a practice manager in a dental practice however I have to travel into London every day from Amersham and it’s quite a long and tiring journey to do that frequently on top of the general stress of managing an extremely busy practice. I have decided to look for work a bit closer to home in Amersham or even surrounding areas. I also run a jewellery business which I can do in my spare time. I have done a lot of TV work as an extra, working on Netflix shows, BBC, ITV, Amazon Prime and popular British TV soaps such as Hollyoaks, Coronation Street, Emmerdale and Eastenders. I’m have great interpersonal skills and I’m extremely trustworthy and down to earth.
I’ve always enjoyed spending time with kids and looking after children so I’m really excited to be looking into helping a families out with childcare. I love cooking and I cook for myself most evenings. I’m confident in the kitchen and can cook a lot of dishes from scratch.
My Experience
While babysitting for multiple families ever since I was 16, I have helped with reading, homework, outdoor adventures, after school clubs (where with one they randomly made me a scout leader because they loved my friendly approach to children), putting kids to bed and reading stories or making them up. I can also cook lovely meals, I have quite an extensive range of meals I can cook from scratch as I love cooking and cook for myself almost every evening. I host dinner parties for my friends frequently as I genuinely enjoying cooking for other people.
I’ve worked in a summer camp in America twice, for 1 month and lived in the cabins with the kids (mainly aged 7-12) looking after them. I’m extremely good at braiding hair in all sorts of styles, or playing and helping with sports practice or keeping active. I grew up doing advanced gymnastics for over 10 years and I also did cheerleading, trampolining, ballet dance, tap dancing and jazz dancing. I also play the piano at an intermediate level (I also play by ear) so I’m happy to help with piano practice or other instruments as I can read music.
I’ve previously taken kids to and from school, or taken them to their after school clubs. I’ve travelled with children on public transport in London, and know the dangers and how to stay safe. I’m very responsible and confident when it comes to the protection of children.
I’ve looked after boys and girls, and although I have more experience looking after girls, I don’t have a preference when it comes to caring for children.
My Qualifications
I don’t have any qualifications in childcare, just a lot of practical experience. I also have first aid training and life support training which I have don’t the test and renewed for the past 5 years.
My Availability
Right now, I’m working in a part time job where I travel into central London. However, I’m very open to giving my notice in if I find a family who would like me to work full time or even part time in hours that affect my current work schedule. I’m happy to travel too, I’m just looking for something that doesn’t require me to travel 3 hours each day like my current job. I’m also happy to work overnight if it’s needed, I’m used to quite a random schedule and I’m extremely open to random or different timings.
