About Me
Hi, my name is Katy. I'm a graduate in Mathematical Sciences, and I've been privately tutoring students in Math for over 15 years now!
I'm self employed and run my tutoring business from home as it works well with being a parent myself.
I particularly specialise in students who lack confidence in mathematics or who lack interest in it, however I also enjoy working with students for whom mathematics is a passion.
I have a very relaxed style of teaching which works particularly well with teenagers and in my learning space we focus on mutual respect and staying curious! I don't teach to a set lesson plan or even a set style, instead preferring to focus on that bond I create with my student and working on areas that they specifically need to work on, either in conjunction with their schooling or as stand alone classes.
I do not tutor students under the age of 7, I believe in early years learning through play which is not conducive to formal mathematics lessons.
My Experience
I have taught ages 7-70, and abilities from beginner through to A-Levels and even Oxbridge University Preparation. With the UK curriculum I teach to all major exam boards and keep up to date on all the syllabi. I also have experience tutoring students abroad, where either I am sent their school curriculum, or I get in touch with the school myself in order to find the best path of learning for each student.
