About Me
I am a teacher with more than 15 years UK teaching experience. I have experience in teaching and tutoring Early Years, KS1 and KS2. I have taught children of all abilities and have prepared children for KS1 SATs. I am aware that all children have different learning styles and have always catered to this in my tutoring roles. I have successfully tutored children in Phonics, English and Maths and have tutored children with additional needs.
My Experience
I am very familiar with the UK National Curriculum and have planned lessons for all primary subject areas, undertaken assessment of pupil`s progress and have prepared children for KS1/KS2 SATS and the Y1 phonics screening test. I am able to tailor specific lessons to meet the pupil`s needs and am aware that all children have different learning styles.
I have a patient approach to teaching and would look at the abilities of the pupil in order to determine which learning style suits them best. I appreciate that some students learn better from practical activities rather than just rote learning. My approach is to ensure that the child is engaged and enthusiastic about what they are learning.
I try to make the lessons fun so that children are engaged and don`t get bored. I have always had a great relationship with children I have taught over the years and have a firm but fair approach to my teaching.
