About Me
I’ve just retired spend 30+ years in social services along side caring for my elderly parents. I have 3 grown up children and one 2 year old granddaughter. I live in Didsbury enjoy spending time with my family especially my granddaughter. I am a good listener I’m able to remain calm in difficult situations offering kindness and empathy always. I love the outdoors walking my little dog taking my granddaughter swimming and to various local activities . Spending time with people especially children is what I enjoy most. I am looking to work part time in the local area.
My Experience
30+ years in Social services to include 10 years in children’s services. Working along side social workers at child protection level. The last 3 years I’ve worked with special educational needs children and their families. Completed safeguarding training, along with special needs and parenting training. My work involved visiting families at home supporting parents/ carers with daily living skills and assisting with whatever was a priority for them in a kind and gentle way. Liaising with organisations/ schools/ nurseries to enrol children in activities building up a trusting relationship with children and their parents.
