My Summary

My Experience

I worked as an after-schools club activity assistant for 1 year. I was responsible for transporting children between after school clubs including ballet & swimming, ensuring they got changed quickly and appropriately and delivering them either to parents or the general after school club. I was involved in organising and delivering activities such as painting, games, reading, crafting, pretend play and handing out snacks and drink. This role involved working with primary school aged children from reception to year 6.

Furthermore, I volunteered at Sunday school for 2 hours/week for 5 years. Initially, for the first three years, I worked with children aged 0-5 where I encouraged them to play, sing, learn and craft. However, for the past two years I worked as a 1:1 assistant for a 7 year old autistic boy, enabling him to take part in the sessions. I was responsible for organising a timetable for his morning, ensuring he was feeling comfortable in the sessions and if not, developing strategies to help alleviate anxiety, aiding him in crafts, learning actions for songs and memory verses and ensuring he safely got back to his parents after the sessions. On weeks where he wasn’t present, I worked with children aged 5-11 organising small group activities and games.

In addition, I babysat twins aged 3 where my responsibilities included reading, playing, helping them eat dinner, loading/unloading the dishwasher, hoovering & general tidying. I worked 2.5 hours/week for 7 months.

I am confident working with children with SEN, particularly autism.

My Qualifications

I have gained A*A*A at A-Level in Maths, Chemistry and Psychology.

In addition, I have completed the Signature Level 1 BSL course.

My Availability

I am avaliable to work after school and evening hours on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday. Additionally, I am avaliable from 4:30pm on a Tuesday. I am also avaliable on weekends.

• Babysitting from £12.00 per hour
