I come from an international background, having grown up between London and Madrid, and I am currently studying International Business at the University of Birmingham. My upbringing has made me bilingual in English and Spanish, and comfortable working with people from many different cultures. I’m naturally organised, calm, and responsible, and I genuinely enjoy working with children. Volunteering twice in Peru at an orphanage, where I cared for children aged 1–18, has shaped my commitment to helping others, and I plan to continue returning every year. My Experience
I have developed extensive childcare experience through several meaningful roles. I have volunteered in Peru twice, working in an orphanage where I helped care for around 40 children aged 1 to 18. My responsibilities included assisting in the on-site school, supporting the teachers, and helping younger children with basic learning and routines. I also took part in daily and night-time care, making sure the children were safe, supported, and engaged throughout the entire day. This experience taught me responsibility, emotional maturity, and how to adapt to the needs of children of all ages, and I plan to continue returning each year because the work has become incredibly important to me.
Alongside this, I have taken part in school mentoring and tutoring, helping younger students academically and offering guidance and support. I have also babysat regularly for two family friends, managing routines such as meals, homework, bedtime, and activities that keep the children comfortable and happy. Before starting university, I worked for two months providing after-school childcare, supervising children daily and ensuring a safe, positive environment. Altogether, these experiences have strengthened my ability to be reliable, patient, and confident when caring for children in both structured and fast-paced environments.
My Qualifications
I graduated from the International Baccalaureate with a 35 and previously completed my GCSEs with strong results in all core subjects. I have completed all three levels of the Duke of Edinburgh Award—Bronze, Silver, and Gold—which strengthened my teamwork, resilience, leadership, and commitment. Through the IB, I developed strong organisation, communication, and problem-solving skills, studying subjects such as Business HL, English HL, and Maths AI. I am bilingual in English and Spanish and have also studied French, German, and Mandarin, which allows me to work confidently with families from diverse backgrounds. Alongside my academic qualifications, my experience in mentoring, tutoring, babysitting, after-school childcare, and volunteering twice in Peru has given me a high level of responsibility, maturity, and practical childcare understanding.
