My Summary
About Me
I am a 29-year-old Brazilian graduate student currently completing a Master’s degree in Public Policy at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford. I come from a large, close-knit family, and growing up as the oldest cousin of eight meant that caring for younger children was always a natural and meaningful part of my everyday life. I am also a proud aunt and godmother to two young children, aged one and six, who have shaped my love for spending time with children and supporting their growth.
I offer thoughtful, reliable babysitting support and genuinely enjoy creating calm, safe, and engaging environments where children feel comfortable and cared for. I am attentive, patient, and organised, and I take pride in being someone parents can trust in their home. I am comfortable supporting daily routines such as meals, playtime, bedtime, and quiet learning moments, always following each family’s preferences and expectations.
Having grown up in Brazil and worked and studied in international settings, I am especially comfortable working with international and multicultural families. I speak Portuguese and English fluently and have an intermediate level of Spanish. I enjoy incorporating creative activities such as arts and crafts, storytelling, music, and gentle language exposure into babysitting, and I can play the guitar at a beginner level, which children often enjoy.
During my academic breaks, I am excited to dedicate time to babysitting as a way to save towards my graduation while doing work that I truly value. Spending time with children helps me feel closer to my own family and miss my nephew a little less, and I bring that same care, warmth, and sense of responsibility into every family I support. My goal is always to give parents peace of mind, knowing their children are in kind, attentive, and capable hands.
My Experience
Although I have not worked as a formal babysitter, childcare has been a central part of my life for many years. As the oldest cousin in a large family, I have regularly cared for younger children from infancy through early school age, often taking full responsibility for their daily routines. I am also a deeply involved aunt and godmother to two children, and I have played an active support role in helping my sister raise her youngest child. With his father not present, I stepped in to provide consistent, hands-on care and emotional support, which strengthened my sense of responsibility, reliability, and attentiveness.
Through these experiences, I have developed practical, everyday childcare skills and am confident managing children independently. My experience includes the following key childcare activities:
- Child safety and supervision (maintaining a safe environment at all times)
- Feeding and meal preparation (preparing age-appropriate meals and snacks, assisting with feeding)
- Personal hygiene and care (nappy changes, bathing, dressing, and bedtime routines)
- Sleep and settling routines (creating calm transitions, reading bedtime stories, helping children sleep)
- Play, engagement, and entertainment (age-appropriate games, arts and crafts, music, and imaginative play)
- Learning and school support (reading together, helping with homework, language support)
- Emotional support and behaviour guidance (patience, reassurance, positive reinforcement)
- Household support related to childcare (tidying play areas, light cleaning, children’s laundry)
- Grooming and care routines (hair styling and helping children feel comfortable and confident)
