About Me
Hello, my name is Nicola. I'm a mum of 3 who are now mature, independent young people with lots of interests. I currently work part time in an independent school where I support students' individual learning plans and deliver a rich extracurricular programme.
Previously, I was a community midwife enjoying supporting new mums and dads transition into parenthood, with a special interest in establishing breast feeding. With a history in child care related services, residential care, Girl Guiding and supporting those in crisis, I have a wealth of knowledge and experience across many aspects of child and family support.
I'm now in a position to share this wealth of experience with families and children, and offer tutoring.
My Experience
I have worked most of my adult life, only taking a break when I'd 2 pre-school children. My experience includes -
22 years as a mum;
20 years in statutory child care services including residential child care and safeguarding;
5 years as a midwife;
18 months working in an Independent school;
1 on 1 support to families in crisis including emergency childcare, deep cleaning/decluttering and debt management;
Babysitting on and off for years &
More recently, dog walking.
Volunteering roles include -
Breastfeeding support;
Playscheme worker for children with disabilities;
Sunday School Teacher;
Girl Guide Leader;
C.A.P. family support worker.
