About Me
I am a friendly, patient and dedicated primary school teacher with a passion for helping children grow in confidence and achieve their full potential. I believe learning should be engaging, supportive and tailored to each child’s individual needs.
I build strong, positive relationships with both children and parents, creating a calm and encouraging learning environment where children feel comfortable asking questions and making progress. I take pride in making learning enjoyable while also challenging pupils to reach their next steps.
My Experience
I am an experienced independent primary school teacher with several years of classroom experience teaching children across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. I have worked with pupils of varying abilities, including those who need extra support and those who benefit from additional challenge.
Through my teaching and tutoring experience, I have supported children with:
• English (reading, writing, spelling and grammar)
• Maths (number, problem-solving and confidence-building)
• SATs preparation
• Homework support
• Building self-confidence and independent learning skills
I am experienced in adapting lessons to suit different learning styles and ensuring sessions are structured, engaging and focused on clear learning goals.
My Qualifications
Qualified Teacher Status (PGCE with QTS)
• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology
• Current enhanced DBS check
• Up-to-date safeguarding training
• First Aid training

We booked some tutoring sessions with Joanna over the summer to give our 5-year-old extra support and confidence before starting Year 1. He can struggle to focus and Joanna has been brilliant at finding clever and creative ways to keep him engaged and interested throughout the sessions. She’s incredibly patient, encouraging and has really taken the time to understand how he learns best. We’d definitely recommend her!
