Leyla
Babysitter in Bournemouth
My Summary
About Me
Hi, I’m Leyla! I am a 20-year-old living in Bournemouth with a genuine love for working with children. Growing up as the eldest of four children, I’ve been a 'mini-parent' my whole life, and looking after younger siblings is something that comes naturally to me. This has given me a deep sense of responsibility and a real-world understanding of how to keep a busy household happy.
I would describe myself as soft-spoken and patient, which allows me to connect well with children of all temperaments. I pride myself on creating a calm, safe, and positive environment where kids feel comfortable and heard. I am a responsible and punctual person who understands the importance of following a family’s established routines to keep things running smoothly while you’re away. I am always happy to do a 'meet and greet' first to ensure I’m the right fit for your little ones!
My Experience
My experience with childcare began at a very young age, as I am the eldest of four siblings. Being the 'big sister' in a large family meant that childcare wasn't just a job, but a core part of my daily life.
My hands-on experience includes:
All-Age Care: Growing up with three younger siblings, I have experience caring for children at various stages, from toddlers to primary school age.
Daily Routines: I am highly experienced in managing mealtimes, helping with homework, and handling the 'bedtime hustle' with patience.
Creative Engagement: I enjoy being active with children—whether it’s reading together, arts and crafts, or outdoor play—rather than just supervising.
Household Management: I am comfortable helping with light tidying up or snack prep to ensure the home stays organized.
My Qualifications
While I do not hold a formal NVQ in childcare, my qualifications come from over 6+ years of 'real-world' experience as the eldest of four children. This has taught me essential skills that can’t always be learned in a classroom, including:
Conflict Resolution: Managing sibling dynamics and helping children navigate their emotions.
Safety Awareness: Constantly supervising younger children to ensure a safe environment.
Time Management: Balancing homework, meal times, and bedtime routines.
First Aid Knowledge: Basic understanding of minor cuts/scrapes and common childhood illnesses from growing up in a large household.
I am willing to undergo a DBS check and am open to completing specific first aid training if required by a family.
My Availability
I am very flexible.
