Babysitter in London
About Me
I come from a large, close-knit family and have grown up surrounded by children. I have four nephews and one niece, so caring for children has always been a natural part of my life. From a young age, I was regularly involved in babysitting and helping out with day-to-day routines, which helped me develop patience, responsibility, and confidence around children.
I was born in Portugal and raised in East London, where I completed my primary and secondary education and sixth form. I am currently a university student studying Law, with aspirations to pursue a career in human rights law in the future. Alongside my studies, I work part-time as a Bank Early Years Practitioner at a nursery, a role I began while I was still in sixth form and have continued for almost two years.
I have a genuine passion for working with children and enjoy supporting their development through creativity and play. I love music, performing arts, and dance, which I often incorporate into activities to keep children engaged and happy. I am caring, reliable, and enthusiastic, and I hope to have a family of my own one day. In the meantime, I really enjoy building positive, trusting relationships with the children and families I work with.
My Experience
I have cared for children both professionally and within my family. Professionally, I have worked as a Bank Early Years Practitioner at a nursery for almost two years, starting when I was 17. In this role, I have cared for children across different age groups, supporting their daily routines, play-based learning, meals, hygiene, and emotional wellbeing. I follow safeguarding procedures, work closely with other practitioners, and adapt quickly to different nursery settings and children’s needs.
In addition to this, I have extensive informal childcare experience caring for my four nephews and one niece from a young age. My responsibilities have included babysitting, preparing meals and snacks, supporting homework and learning activities, organising creative play, maintaining routines, and ensuring children’s safety and wellbeing.
Through both my professional and personal experience, I am confident caring for children independently, following instructions from parents, and creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment.
