Nicole G
Babysitter in London
My Summary
About Me
Hi, I am a 25-year-old girl from southern China. My native languages are Cantonese and Mandarin. I grew up in a happy family and have a younger brother who is six years younger than me, which gave me early experience of caring for and interacting with children.
I worked as a primary school music teacher in China and also completed internships in theatre and educational organisations. Most of my professional experience has been closely related to children and music education. I recently completed my Master’s degree in Music at the University of Southampton.
Over the past year, I have been actively involved in various volunteer roles in the UK, including working with young children aged 6–8 in a Scouts group and volunteering with the National Autistic Society. I have also participated in university-led cultural, music, and science festivals, engaging with families and children through workshops and interactive activities. These experiences have strengthened my communication skills, cultural awareness, and confidence in working with children from diverse backgrounds.
I can play the piano, and I genuinely enjoy spending time with children. I believe every child has their own unique personality and talents, and I enjoy supporting their growth in a patient and creative way. I am eager to gain more international experience in child-related roles.
At present, I am based in London, living with a host family through a work-exchange arrangement and plan to stay for at least one year. I have flexible availability and am actively seeking part-time opportunities as a babysitter or nanny.
My Experience
As a primary school teacher I can independently teach 40 kids and my students age include 6-12 years old. And I also have private tutoring experience, I used to took care of an 8-year-old girl in China for one year, spending nine hours a day with her. I accompanied her during online classes, tutored her with homework after school, and helped her practice the piano. No housework or cooking was required. Additionally, I tutored an 11-year-old boy for two hours daily after school at my home for two years. I also helped a friend by looking after her one-year-old daughter at her home for about half a year during times when she was unavailable, though these sessions were brief and irregular.
In my current london homestay family, I am responsible for the daily routine of two children. For the 8-year-old girl, this includes school drop-off and pick-up, assisting with her Chinese homework, and supervising her piano practice. Each morning, I also engage the 2-year-old sister in play and help her during breakfast. I dedicate approximately 15 hours per week to these duties and have been in this role for three weeks so far.
My Qualifications
I had a First aid training and DBS. I have China music teacher qualification.
