My Summary
About Me
I’ve always had a natural passion for working with children, which really comes from growing up in a large, lively family where caring for younger relatives became second nature. That early experience shaped who I am today and encouraged me to pursue a career centred around supporting and nurturing children.
I have spent the last five years working as a Teaching Assistant, supporting learners from Nursery up to Year 6. Through this, I’ve gained strong experience in early years development, learning through play, behaviour support, and creating safe, engaging environments where children feel confident and valued. I’m currently completing my PGCE, which has deepened my understanding of child psychology, learning needs, and how to support children’s emotional and educational growth — all of which strengthens my role as a caregiver.
Alongside my education experience, I also work in a children’s soft-play centre, which has further developed my skills in supervising young children, managing routines, handling busy environments, and building positive relationships with both children and families.
Overall, I’m someone who is warm, patient, and genuinely invested in helping children thrive. Working with children has always felt like the most natural and rewarding path for me, and I’m excited to bring my experience, reliability, and passion into this role.
My Experience
I’ve spent many years caring for children in both personal and professional settings. Growing up in a large family, I regularly babysat my younger brothers and sisters from a young age. This often included preparing their meals, helping with homework, keeping them entertained, doing school drop-offs and pick-ups, and ensuring the house was tidy and safe. This experience naturally helped me build confidence, patience, and a strong instinct for looking after children of different ages.
Professionally, I’ve worked as a Teaching Assistant for around five years, supporting children from Nursery to Year 6. During this time, I cared for children throughout the school day — supervising play, supporting their learning, helping with emotional regulation, leading small groups, and working 1:1 with children who needed extra support. My responsibilities also included setting up activities, maintaining a safe environment, preparing resources, and building strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
Alongside this, I’m currently a PGCE student teacher, which means my day-to-day life is completely centred around understanding children’s development and supporting their education. A typical day for me involves planning and delivering lessons, observing children’s progress, adapting activities to meet different needs, communicating with parents and teachers, and ensuring children are safe, happy, and engaged.
Outside of education, I have additional hands-on childcare experience through babysitting for families, as well as working in a children’s soft-play centre, where I supervise play, manage safety, support younger children, and communicate clearly with parents.
