Babysitter in Rochester
My Summary
About Me
I am a caring, responsible and enthusiastic childcare professional with a background in social work and experience supporting children in educational and family settings. I hold a Master’s degree in Social Work and have worked with children through a primary school safeguarding placement, an independent fostering agency, and within an after-school club. These roles have developed my ability to build trusting relationships with children, support their emotional wellbeing, and create safe, engaging environments where they can learn and grow. I am patient, organised and attentive to children’s needs, with a strong understanding of safeguarding and child development. I am passionate about supporting children’s confidence, creativity and development while providing reliable and nurturing care.
My Experience
I have years of experience working with children in educational, safeguarding, and childcare settings. I currently work as an After School Club Supervisor in a primary school, where I support children aged 5–11 in a safe and structured environment. My role includes supervising play and activities, encouraging positive behaviour, and ensuring children’s wellbeing while following safeguarding procedures.
As part of my Master’s degree in Social Work, I completed a safeguarding placement in a primary school, where I worked closely alongside the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). In this role, I supported the early identification of safeguarding concerns and worked directly with children using child-centred approaches such as Signs of Safety and Three Houses to help them express their feelings and experiences.
I also completed a placement with an independent fostering agency, where I supported children in care and foster carers through monitoring visits and child-focused reports. This experience strengthened my understanding of children’s emotional needs, attachment, and the importance of providing safe and nurturing environments.
In addition, I have supported children and families through community work at my church, where I have taken on voluntary administrative responsibilities and helped coordinate activities involving children. These experiences have helped me develop strong communication, patience, and organisational skills.
Through my work, I have developed a strong understanding of safeguarding, child development, and creating supportive environments where children feel safe, confident, and able to thrive.
