About Me
I am a 22-year-old with a real passion for childcare and creating fun, engaging experiences for children. I have always been fascinated by early childhood development and hope to work towards formal qualifications in this field in the future. I recently completed a degree in Performing Arts, which has given me a range of transferable skills such as creativity, communication, confidence, patience and the ability to engage, support and entertain children through games, storytelling, and imaginative play. I am a warm, reliable, and fun-loving person who genuinely enjoys spending time with children and supporting their curiosity about the world. I love encouraging creativity, play, and learning in a positive, safety-first environment, and I always aim to make children feel comfortable, happy, and cared for.
My Experience
I have been working with children in various roles since I was still in school. My first experience was a placement at Denny Nursery, where I supported staff and worked with young children.
Since then, I have worked as a Youth Theatre Facilitator with children and young people aged 5-17, helping to run creative activities, workshops, and performances.
I have also worked in similar environments, including recently working as a Christmas Elf where I interacted with/entertained children and families.
Last summer I spent two months abroad working at an American summer camp, where I cared for a 3 month old as a nanny. This was a very intense and challenging role, and so rewarding.
Over the past six years I have also taken part in various voluntary roles involving children and families, which has helped me develop unyielding patience, responsibility, and a genuine understanding of how to support children in different settings from different backgrounds.
I am also very involved in helping care for my two-year-old niece, giving me regular hands-on experience with toddlers.
I have just secured a job as an early years supply in a nursery, so while I have previously been a member of the PVG scheme- I am in the process of renewing it currently.
My Qualifications
SCQF Level 5 in Early Childhood Education and Childcare
BA (Hons) in Acting and Performance
My Availability
I am available at all times except early mornings as I will be relying on public transport until I get my license. Transport is so unreliable- I never want to leave families stuck for childcare and late for work!
