Rose
Babysitter in Bristol
My Summary
About Me
I am a creative, University educated person with experience working with SEN children and teenagers looking to explore nannying! I have a full DBS check, a qualification in health and social care, and am currently studying part time towards my PHD which focuses on the contributions of teenage girls to pop culture. I am based in Bristol.
I am positive, empathetic and capable. With both safeguarding and first aid training (happy to provide certificates!) under my belt, I’d like to work for a family that values education, culture and nature. I can bring a strong insight into SEN behaviour and education, a passion for enrichment and activity planning, and a true respect for both your parenting style and your children as emerging, unique individuals.
I have a slightly alternative fashion sense - I have tattoos and colour my hair - but I would be happy to tone this down or cover up within reason.
My Experience
I have experience working with children and young people in a range of contexts: from work as a Teaching Assistant and substitute teacher in a secondary school setting, to running 1:1 clubs and groups to support emotional resilience and communication for vulnerable young people, and within a sexual health clinic called Brook - catering to young people between 13-24.
Across all of these roles, I have thrived when I am able to build connections and bond with children through open discussion and activities. Often, I have interacted with young people and their parents at points where they feel anxious and vulnerable. This has left me with excellent communication skills, empathy for both parents and children, and a functional, working knowledge of support available and approaches to conflict resolution and deescalation. In addition to this, I am keenly aware of EHCP/SEN systems and empathise with the additional strain advocating for a neurodiverse child can put on a family.
Every child is different, and getting to know them is an endless journey as they grow up and change. I place real value on engaging with and celebrating this, and it has allowed me to be effective and positive in all my previous positions. I am most experienced with children and young people between the ages of 9-16, but have a lot of professional interest and curiosity about early childhood development, and would be interested in working with families with children outside of these age brackets.
My Qualifications
I have an enhanced DBS, an A-level in health and social care, am safeguarding and first aid trained (accredited by the NHS) and have a degree in Theatre - working towards a PHD.
My Availability
I am able to be flexible with availability as I only study part time, and this is entirely research based. Ideally, I would be open to working 2-4 days a week - with additional hours being an option if they should be required. Weekend work is welcome, as well as during the working week.
My Fees
- Babysitting from £10.00 per hour
At least hourly national living wage with discussions of weekly or monthly pay up for negotiation. Additional costs for overtime/overnights or nannying while the family travel I would expect to be covered.
My Documents
- UK Passport (added 10/03/2026)
- DBS Check (added 10/03/2026)
